Thailand crane collapse kills 22 on train
A construction crane working on a high-speed rail project collapsed onto a passenger train in northeastern Thailand on Wednesday morning, killing at least 22 people and injuring around 80. The train was traveling from Bangkok to Ubon Ratchathani province when the crane fell, causing the train to derail and briefly catch fire in Nakhon Ratchasima province. Around 195 passengers were on board the three-carriage train. The crane was building an elevated track as part of a Thai-Chinese high-speed railway project under Beijing's Belt and Road Initiative. Thailand's Transport Minister has ordered a comprehensive investigation.
