Rare flesh-eating bug puts mum in coma

Caroline Fonjock, a social worker, almost died from necrotising fasciitis, a rare, rapidly spreading infection. She spent two weeks in a coma at Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge, needing emergency surgery to remove part of her leg. Her case now helps Addenbrooke's researchers improve how this condition, with a one in four chance of death, is identified.
