England face Croatia in World Cup opener

This is England's first step towards ending their six-decade wait for a second major trophy in men's football. The Three Lions play Croatia on Wednesday, 17 June, in Dallas to start their 2026 FIFA World Cup campaign. It's also the first big test for Thomas Tuchel, who became England's coach in January last year.
