British perfume entrepreneur Jo Malone has donated £100,000 to help a Buckinghamshire charity build an electronic nose that can sniff out cancer. Medical Detection Dogs will use the money for a SniffSpace room, letting its dogs test more samples faster and produce data to train the device. A prototype is currently testing 500 urine samples from Milton Keynes Hospital patients for signs of prostate cancer.
