Courts Must Now Flag Domestic Abuse on Offenders' Records

Criminal courts in England and Wales must now say in open court when an offence involved domestic abuse, under rules that took effect on Monday. The new formal marker will appear on police, probation and prison systems, helping staff spot repeat abusers and manage risk. Ministers call it a step towards halving violence against women and girls, and the domestic abuse commissioner has welcomed it.
