England's oldest man, Arthur Aspinall, dies at 109

Arthur Aspinall, recognized as England's most senior man, has died peacefully at his residence, aged 109 years and 231 days. Born in Bolton in 1916, Arthur ran his family's forging business for decades, eventually retiring at 90 in 2006. He was the final British male born in 1916 to remain alive, and he is survived by eight grandchildren.
