Starmer: Tech firms face 10% turnover fine over child safety
Children could face stronger online protections if firms don't make platforms safer for young users. Speaking at London Tech Week on Monday, Keir Starmer said ministers would step in and change the law where companies fail to protect people, while officials examine tighter rules on social media and online features. He said platforms may be required to remove non-consensual intimate images within 48 hours or face fines worth up to ten per cent of global turnover.
