J.P. Morgan expects just one BoE hike for 2026

Borrowing costs may rise less sharply than previously anticipated, as a major U.S. bank has adjusted its outlook. J.P. Morgan now forecasts just one central bank rate increase in 2026, shifting from an earlier prediction of two such rises. This change follows Governor Andrew Bailey's comments to Reuters that financial markets had priced in higher costs too aggressively.
