Israel's 91st Division pushes into Lebanon with 'forward defence'.

Israel's Defence Minister Israel Katz authorised the IDF to advance and take control of additional strategic positions in southern Lebanon on 3 March 2026, following Hezbollah's first rocket fire at Israel since the November 2024 ceasefire. Troops from the 91st Division are operating south of the Litani River under what the military calls a 'deepening forward defence' strategy. Spokesman Lieutenant Colonel Nadav Shoshani said soldiers were placed at the border to protect civilians and key sites. IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir warned the offensive campaign could last several days.
