Ireland testing digital ID to check social media age
The Irish government is exploring an app that would verify how old someone is before they can use social media platforms. Ireland currently has a digital age of consent set at 16, but officials admit it isn't being enforced. The move follows Australia's ban on under-16s using social media, which took effect late last year.
