Iran threatens to seize 45 ships over Strait of Hormuz transit rules

Iran's newly created maritime authority announced late on Sunday that these ships risk detention for ignoring local transit guidelines. The blacklist names company fleets from Saudi Arabia, South Korea and the United Arab Emirates, while strictly forbidding other boats from taking on their cargo. Before the ongoing war interfered with regional shipping, the vital waterway processed around a fifth of everyday global oil and gas supplies.
