Iran Says a Nuclear Deal Was Days Away When Trump Chose to Bomb Instead
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi claimed Monday that US-Iran nuclear negotiations in Geneva were close to a final agreement before Trump ordered the strikes. 'We left Geneva with understanding that we'd seal a deal next time we meet,' he wrote on X, accusing Trump of 'bombing the negotiating table.' The White House has not responded to the claim. Iran's security chief Ali Larijani separately insisted Iran 'will not negotiate with the United States,' contradicting any suggestion of resumed back-channel talks.
