Iran Conflict Drives UK Farm Costs to Crisis Point

UK food prices are set to rise as farmers face surging input costs during the current growing season, driven largely by the Iran conflict. Red diesel prices have risen by around 70% since late February, while some fertiliser costs are up 30 to 40%. Food inflation is now forecast to reach at least 9% by the end of 2026.
