Iran asks China to help guarantee region peace
Stability in the region may depend on outside powers helping prevent further conflict. Iran’s ambassador in Beijing said China could act as a security guarantor and urged major countries and the UN to ensure the United States does not resume fighting. His remarks came hours after Donald Trump announced a two-week pause in bombing, with Iran warning it would respond strongly to any breach.
