India's education minister quits after mass student protests

India's education minister Dharmendra Pradhan resigned on Saturday after weeks of nationwide student protests over leaked entrance exam papers. He handed his letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying he was stepping down with students' futures in mind, after sit-ins and hunger strikes demanding his removal. It is the first major retreat by Modi's government in one of India's biggest student movements in years.
