India's 100 airports: The plan to connect its most remote regions

India is planning a major expansion of its aviation network by building 100 new airports and 200 helipads under an upgraded regional connectivity programme. The initiative aims to link smaller cities, remote regions and underserved areas, improving access to air travel and supporting economic growth.
