Illegal hare coursing gangs have grown tenfold across England's farmland, police say. Cambridgeshire Constabulary logged 9,000 reports of the banned blood sport in three years, with organisers offering bettors prize money up to £50,000, and one Hampshire case saw 20 hare and rabbit carcasses dumped outside a school. Superintendent Ben Martin said parts of the trade are now run by organised criminal gangs.
