AI writes and passes peer review for first time
Tokyo-based Sakana AI has published a Nature paper detailing its 'AI Scientist' tool, which autonomously handles the full research cycle — from idea generation to writing. The system submitted three papers to a workshop at a top machine-learning conference. One passed peer review, marking the first fully AI-generated paper to do so, though at workshop level.
