IBM shares fall 25% after profit warning
IBM’s stock was on track for its steepest single-day decline since 1987, after reporting disappointing second-quarter results. The US tech giant blamed the drop on corporate customers shifting spending from software to datacentre and cybersecurity hardware. IBM's chief executive, Arvind Krishna, reported that many major clients acquired hardware in June, anticipating price increases.
