Lloyd’s and Chubb add $400m for ships

More insurance cover could help vessels and cargo move through a key waterway after disruption linked to the conflict involving Iran. On 19 June 2026, Lloyd’s of London set up a marine risk group led by Chubb to offer extra protection for ships and freight using the route. It can provide $200m for vessel-related risks and another $200m for cargo, while shipping firms remain cautious.
