Ian Rodger, 58, donates kidney to stranger for 2025 transplant.

A kidney donation brought "lightning bolt" news to a stranger needing treatment in Birmingham. Aberdeen's Ian Rodger, 58, a self-employed architect, made this decision after seeing people die from waiting for organs. His operation in Edinburgh towards late 2025 saw the organ flown to the recipient's city that same day.
