White House warns UK over social media ban for kids

Parents could see changes to how children use online platforms as ministers consider new rules aimed at reducing harm on the internet. The Trump administration told the UK not to introduce an Australia-style restriction for under-16s, arguing families should manage children’s use and raising concerns about effects on free speech. Liz Kendall said nine out of 10 consultation responses from parents backed such action.
