Energy markets could be affected if the actions described by the US president go ahead. Donald Trump said the United States would carry out heavy strikes on Iran tonight and later take control of Kharg Island and other oil facilities. He also said Washington would take charge of Iran's oil and gas markets, comparing the approach with what he said had been done in Venezuela.
