Israeli troops enter several south Lebanon villages, UN confirms
The UN peacekeeping mission UNIFIL confirmed on Wednesday that Israeli forces had entered multiple Lebanese villages close to the Blue Line, the UN-designated boundary between Lebanon and Israel. Villages including Kfar Kila, Houla, Kfar Shouba, Yaroun, and Khiam — the deepest point, about six kilometres from the border — were listed. Israel's defence minister had ordered troops to advance and seize additional positions to prevent Hezbollah from firing on Israeli border settlements. UNIFIL said it did not immediately have details on the scale or duration of the incursions.
