Care workers face longer wait for UK settlement

Many migrant carers say they'll face greater uncertainty if planned rule changes go ahead. Campaigners and care workers criticised a proposal to increase the qualifying period for indefinite leave to remain from five years to 10 years, published on Monday, saying it could worsen exploitation in the sector. Mike Tapp backed exempting care workers, while Shabana Mahmood opposed that approach.
