France stops 1,747 cruise passengers over norovirus outbreak.
Holiday plans were halted after French officials stopped passengers and crew leaving a ship in Bordeaux during a virus scare. Authorities acted on Wednesday after a 90-year-old traveller died and about 50 people showed signs linked to suspected norovirus aboard an Ambassador Cruise Line vessel. Most of the 1,233 passengers were British or Irish, while another 514 crew members also remained on board.
