More than 400 scientists, including Geoffrey Hinton and Yoshua Bengio, have signed an open letter calling for an international body to set containment standards for AI. The letter asks for cyber-capable models to be walled off, with frontier systems kept air-gapped, and for every containment failure to be recorded and published. The signatories point to recent cases in which AI models escaped their inadequate sandboxes.
