High Court blocks Chagos agreement legal challenge

The UK's agreement regarding the Chagos Archipelago with Mauritius can proceed after a legal challenge failed. On Tuesday, London's High Court refused three plaintiffs permission to start legal proceedings against the British Foreign Office over the arrangement. Britain had agreed last May to return sovereignty to Mauritius, but will maintain a lease on Diego Garcia for a US military base.
