Hundreds of schools across northern Scotland closed Monday due to heavy snowfall and icy conditions, with particularly severe impacts in Moray, Aberdeen, Orkney, and Shetland. Major rail services between Aberdeen, Dundee, and Inverness were suspended until midday, while airports in Aberdeen, Inverness, and Scotland's islands cancelled numerous flights.
