Heatwaves leave UK bumblebees dying as extreme temperatures keep rising
New analysis suggests bumblebee numbers fell sharply after the record-breaking heat of 2022, with some populations dropping by up to a third. The Bumblebee Conservation Trust says Britain has already had three heatwaves in three months, pushing temperatures into a range where bumblebees can overheat and die. Scientists say hotter weather is making it harder for the insects to survive and reproduce.
