UK tells refineries to make more jet fuel
Summer flights could face disruption as Britain tries to avoid shortages caused by the Iran war and blocked fuel routes. Energy minister Michael Shanks asked the UK’s four remaining refineries to increase jet fuel production while officials work with airlines, airports and suppliers. Global jet fuel shipments in April fell to their lowest level since tracking began in 2017, at less than half the pre-war average.
