Few thousand men get prostate cancer screening
Many men won't receive routine prostate cancer screening because the UK National Screening Committee found potential harms outweigh benefits. The committee advised against widespread testing, instead recommending it for only a few thousand men with a dangerous genetic variant and family cancer history. These specific men have BRCA2 genetic mutations and should be screened every two years between 45 and 61.
