IATA chief warns of higher summer flight prices
European air travellers will face higher ticket prices this summer due to inevitable jet fuel shortages. Willie Walsh, who leads the International Air Transport Association, warned that airlines can't take on the increased costs from the Iran conflict. The UK and Europe are particularly reliant on fuel imports from the Strait of Hormuz, with disruption possibly lasting into 2027.
