Green party rejects Zack Polanski's request to delay its annual conference
The party leader wanted to clear his schedule to focus on the upcoming byelection for Keir Starmer's former seat. However, the Greens' ruling executive committee voted down the proposal on Thursday because cancelling the Brighton event would cost too much. About 3,000 members are still expected at the gathering, which ends four days before the Holborn and St Pancras vote on 8 October.
