MPs urge government to block Thames Water rescue deal and nationalise firm
Parliament members want the administration to reject a 10 billion pound takeover bid from creditors and take control instead. The Environment, Food and Rural Affairs committee claims the lenders want quick profits rather than public or environmental benefits. Thames Water currently carries more than 20 billion pounds in debt and risks running out of funds before the year ends.
