Customers wearing Remembrance poppies were refused entry to The Star, a Wetherspoon pub in Gosport, Hampshire, on Sunday as anti-migrant protesters marched through the town. Army veteran Scott Schillemore said door staff called the poppy political. Wetherspoon said it has no poppy ban and blamed temporary security measures, while police denied the company's claim that officers had advised the pub to close early that evening.
