Healey Scraps Tariffs on Marmalade and Gherkins Before Budget

Chancellor John Healey will scrap import tariffs on more than 100 everyday products, including marmalade and gherkins, as part of a cost-of-living package in Wednesday's Budget. The government says combined savings could reach £21 a year per household. Carers will also be able to earn above the weekly limit without losing their whole allowance. The Conservatives called the gherkins offer an insult to struggling families.
