Google understated UK datacentre emissions by five times
Proposed UK datacentres will contribute more carbon than initially reported, impacting the country's carbon budget. Google developers misstated emissions in planning documents for two Essex projects, a mistake also made by Greystoke. They understated figures by a factor of five, comparing one year of emissions to the UK’s five-year carbon budget.
