Google calls Polymarket betting odds appearing in News results a 'mistake'

Google removed Polymarket prediction market pages from Google News after they appeared alongside legitimate journalism in personalised feeds and search results. A spokesperson told The Verge the site 'appeared in Google News in error' and is no longer showing. Before removal, a Polymarket bet on Strait of Hormuz ship traffic appeared just below results from The Guardian and Reuters, raising concerns about blurring news and gambling.
