Go-op plans battery-powered trains for Wiltshire and Somerset
A new co-operative, Go-op, now plans to run electric buses and battery trains after its earlier diesel rail plans failed. It aims to build charging hubs for electric buses serving stations first, then convert old trains to run solely on batteries. Go-op is working with green energy firm Ecotricity to show the idea's potential for UK train lines.
