Astronomers find rare 'Super Jupiter' planet orbiting distant star 180 days
Scientists have identified a new exoplanet, NGTS-38, which exceeds Jupiter's size by approximately 8% and is almost five times heavier. Toby Rodel, a PhD student at Queen's University Belfast, led the team that first detected the planet using data from NASA's TESS satellite. They then used telescopes in Chile for over 200 nights to confirm the planet's 180-day orbit.
