Science and Technology Committee chair Dame Chi Onwurah wrote to Science Minister Lord Patrick Vallance asking why all 12 institutions chosen for the new Global Talent Fund appear to be based in southern England. The fund is designed to help British universities attract overseas researchers. Vallance has committed to setting out his strategic approach to research support in 2026 but has yet to address the regional imbalance.
