Iran Experts Choose Mojtaba Khamenei as Leader
Hardliners will retain firm control in Iran, likely maintaining opposition to reformers seeking engagement with Western powers. On March 9, the Assembly of Experts selected Mojtaba, son of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, as the nation's new leader, over a week after his father's death.
