UK police to get specialist sex offence teams
By 2029, all police services in England and Wales will feature specialist units for investigating rape and sexual offences, according to an announcement from Home Secretary Mahmood. This plan aims to cut violence against women and girls in half over ten years. Currently, only half of UK police forces have these dedicated teams. Funding will support online undercover operations. Domestic Abuse Protection Orders, including electronic tagging, will be implemented nationwide.
