Gatwick Airport passenger numbers fall nearly 5% because of the Iran war
Pre-tax profits at Britain's second-largest airport took an 18% hit, dropping to £137 million over six months. Bosses said travellers are avoiding holiday spots they link to the conflict, like Turkey and Cyprus, driving total flyer numbers down to 19.1 million. Higher staff wages and rising utility bills also pushed the hub's operating costs up to £318 million.
