Ministers plan to halve student achievement gap
The government intends to reduce the performance difference between poorer students and their classmates by fifty per cent. Under these proposals, children holding special needs support plans will face mandatory reassessments after finishing primary school starting in 2029. Education Secretary Bridget Phillipson claims these reforms will fix the current system when the white paper publishes this Monday. However, parents and experts worry that altering legal rights for vulnerable children could cause significant uncertainty.
