Washington Old Hall celebrates US 250th birthday

Washington Old Hall, a manor with ancestral links to George Washington, is celebrating America's 250th birthday and Independence Day. The National Trust, which has run the site for 70 years, is hosting free events including a brass band and school activities. Its general manager said the festivities are "very poignant this year" and highlight the shared history between the two countries.
