France bans festival alcohol as heat climbs
People face dry festival bars while extreme heat also stops sport, disrupts some trains and shuts schools. France introduced a nationwide festival alcohol ban on 21 June 2026 as temperatures headed towards record levels because of a heatwave. Paris could reach 41C, with forecasts showing 106F and public safety concerns driving restrictions across the country.
