Pat McFadden backs wage panel after call
Workers' pay setting could face more direct pressure from ministers if the current advisory system ended, according to Pat McFadden. On Monday, the welfare secretary said removing the Low Pay Commission would be wrong after Rishi Sunak argued it should no longer exist and ministers should take charge. McFadden also said other countries respect the approach, while Sunak said he wished he'd overridden it more often.
