Five nations close airspace after US-Israel strikes on Iran

Global airlines cancelled and diverted flights across the Middle East on Saturday after the United States and Israel launched joint military strikes on Iran. Iran, Israel, Bahrain, Qatar, and the UAE all closed their airspaces, leaving major aviation corridors between Europe, the Gulf, and Asia severely disrupted. Air France, KLM, Virgin Atlantic, Emirates, and United Airlines were among carriers cancelling or rerouting services. US President Trump confirmed “major combat operations,” while Israeli PM Netanyahu cited removing an “existential threat.”
